Got It!

Finally, I realize what is required for Assignment 9. Again, worrying for nothing. I'm going to get this finished (correctly, I hope). I'm still a bit concerned with how my screen shots will turn out for ePrints and Koha. After Friday, our summer vacation begins! :)

I'm so confused with Assignment 9. Again, I feel like the only one who is having an issue. The end is soooo close; if I can finish this assignment correctly, I think I can do anything!

After endless hours of trying to get Amaya to function, I finally figured it out! (I'm sure it took everyone else about 10 mins. to do so.) Now, if only I understood what is required for Assignment 9.....

Stil Struggling

I've been trying to save my Assignment 7 work since Tuesday!!! I'm about to just give up on this one. Amaya won't save, Kompozer won't download, and Noptepad won't recognize my annotations........

Utter Confusion....

With the closing of the semester quickly approaching, I think we're all going a little but crazy! (Especially if we have 4 classes!!!) I'm so confused with these last few assignments. I think I spent about 8 hrs. on the Thoreau assignment, but I'm hoping that my experience with this will guide me through assignments 8 and 9. Just a couple more weeks, and we will all get a much needed break!

Almost there!

I can't believe this semester is almost over! Its been going so fast (which is a good thing, of course). Taking four classes was definitely not my brightest idea, but everything is starting to slow down a little bit now. Only a few more assignments left for this class, and then done! We'll finally get a chance to enjoy our summer. I hope everyone had a safe and happy fourth!

Onto the Next...

ePrints wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to operate. I've learned that its all about familiarizing yourself with the resource before diving into it. Koha has me very confused, expecially since we still haven't gotten any further details reharding the assignment. I say that before every assignment, though, and it ends up being easier than I thought. I guess we'll see...

I'm so confused with ePrints. I can't figure out exactly what is it that we're to find for this assignment. I haven't heard anything regarding an online chat, but I hope we have one to clarify what we need to do. My 3 other classes are really starting to get really time consuming. I think its going to be a busy week...

Dim Dim

As we begin a new chat session tonight with Dim Dim, hopefully I'll have more luck than I did during the last one. My audio and video features were not working for some reason, and I was kicked off at one point. :( Sometimes I think I'm just not cut out for this technological communication; its a part of life now, though, so I guess we all need to get used to it in order to function as successful librarians. Let's hope it goes better tonight! :)

Assignment 4

Jing? Zotero?

Jing and Zotero are two tools I've never worked with, nor heard of. I felt at least semi-confident while completing assignments 2 and 3, as I was somewhat familiar with both resources. I'm a little nervous about this one, though. I'm just going to have to wing it. Hope all goes well!

1/3 of the Way Over!

With week five approaching, its so hard to believe that the semester is 1/3 of the way over already. It looks like we're all still surviving, but we've yet to get started with Jing yet (due next Sunday). This one is making me nervous!

Not quite there yet...

I'm really getting a feel for the tools we've been using the last few weeks. I can certainly see why they're used so frequently to capture information. Ref Works and World Cat seem simple enough. Now, if only I could figure out how to create a spreadsheet. Whenever I hear spreadsheet, I think of Excel; I usually shudder when I hear that word. Here it goes.....

How do they do it?

Nothing to do with 2600, but we were invited to share our frustrations, so here it goes. I've heard horror stories about 2002, but I never really believed them...until now! I have a new found respect for Reference Librarians. How do they do it?! All the information to be retrieved? All the silly questions to be answered? If this is the life of a Reference Librarian, count me out!

Getting Ahead of Myself

I just realized that the Zotero assignment isn't due for another few weeks. Its a good think I just took a look! I have four classes this semester, so I told myself its alright to have a mix up every once in awhile. Getting ready to move forward with the readings in both books; everything I got out of the first set has seemed to help me through these first few weeks. Hopefully, they, along with the other materials will continue to do so. Let's see if I can get this assigmnet right this time....

Zotero

Zotero is a completely foreign concept to me, so the completion of Assignment 3 will be interesting. I'm starting tomorrow; hopefully, I don't get too frustrated with my lack of technological tools.....

Done!

So, I just finished Assignment 2 last night. So much stressing; all for nothing. I thought that RSS feeds were my worst enemy, but they're not so bad after all. Onto Assignment 3......

Assignment 2

I've decided that I love Ref Works. I wish I had known about it throughout college; it would've made life so much easier. I haven't attempted to complete the RSS feed portion of the assignment yet. I'm completely unfamiliar with this concept, so hopefully, all goes well. So far, so good...except I just realized I got my 50 additional sources from Google and not Google Scholar. Better get started on fixing that.....ugh!
